On Saturday, June 6th we had our first live Q&A show on TalkShoe. At least twenty-five people attended the show. It was a lot of fun, and we’ll definitely be doing something like this again in the future.
Here are links to some of the things mentioned during the show:
- Michael Spence – Brother Osric’s Scriptorium
- Michael is now my official biographer. He must attend any future appearance I have and do a two minute introduction to whatever room we enter.
- The Red Box! – (I was wrong. From the screenshots of the different printngs, I must have gotten it in 1981)
- Neverwinter Nights
- Neverwinter Vault – You can still see the first draft of the first half of the novel deep within this site
- Caern Short Stories still on Lulu (free) – Seeker and Roh-Kin
- Christiana Ellis joins us for a Nina Kimberly Update!
- Short discussion on the planned sequel, tentatively titled “The House that Time Forgot”
- Question from Mae Breakall
- Sneak Attacked by Chris Lesssssster
- Tales of the Children – Short Story Anthology – More info will be posted soon!
- The Caern Line – 704-315-5884
- Mailing Lists/Fan Pages!

I know I said to go over to the Dead Robots’ Society website to subscribe, but I had to include this episode in my feed. Last week I had the opporunity to interview Philippa Ballantine, our own Gloria Platt (and oh yeah, an author that just got a publshing deal with Ace Books!). Enjoy.

I’ve joined the crew over at The Dead Robots’ Society as a co-host. DRS is a roundtable podcast — writers talking about writing. Justin Macumber, Terry Mixon, and Ryan Stevenson (along with other hosts past and present) share their experiences attempting to become published authors. Some episodes center on aspects of writing and/or the business of writing, while others contain interviews with other authors.
This is the second and last episode I’ll be posting in my feed. Ep. 78 is a discussion of point of view in fiction. Please visit the The Dead Robots’ Society website for more info (and to get the .pdf I created for the discussion) on this episode and to subscribe!

This is the first episode where I appear as a regular host. Ep. 77 is an interview with Nathan Nowell, author of the Share Series. We focus on podcasting your fiction, contrasting our styles and explaining the decision process one should take before podcasting their novel.
Later this week I’ll drop ep. 78 of the DRS podcast in this feed. If you want to listen to more of the DRS podcast and/or subscribe (to get future episodes), please visit The Dead Robots’ Society website!

I’m probably tempting fate (or at least asking for a slew of DYH calls), but I wanted to post an update on my progress re: episode 41.
- Principal recording is complete. I have some lines to re-record, but nothing major.
- I have all my guest audio, and creating the edited narrative is what I’m concentrating on right now.
- Music and f/x is lined up. I just need to finish #2 so I can put all the pieces in place.
I hope to release ep. 41 by Friday, April 10th.
After my short update, I’ve included an audio teaser, a minute or so of completed audio from ep. 41. I follow that with a promo for season 2 of Flinchy and the Mexican Show Truck, which will start up both here and at theseanachai.com after MaAH is done.
Thanks for listening, and you’ll see (hear) me again next week.
Music during the update is “Asian Drums” by Kevin McLeod.
Thanks to Matthew Wayne Selznick for his appearance as Detective Banks in the promo for Flinchy and the Mexican Show Truck, Season 2.

Ah yes…
00:00 – Announcement
Dragon Moon Press will be publishing Murder at Avedon Hill. No set date at this time, but we’re looking at late ‘09.
03:30 – Spread the Word!
Press Releases can be found on the Media Kit Page. Please send to your local paper or media outlet… any entity that might be interested in the story of an unpublished author using ‘new media’ to land a publishing deal. Send me an email and let me know what you’ve done… we’re going to take this to the next level. Thanks, people!!
Last thing (not mentioned in the audio announcement). If you have a website or blog, please add a quick post about the publishing deal and link to the Press Page at http://pgholyfield.com/the-book/press – It will definitely help!
Music – “Sunset Serenade” – From Marc Gunn’s new CD, Heart’s Ease.
