We are going to rush the Amazon charts on July 13th– not to help a podcast author land a choice book deal, but to show that the publishing industry continues to change… to show that a previously published DIY work, released in audio, print, and e-book formats, can find a new audience when released by an independent publisher. And that a new imprint such as Swarm Press can utilize this new model and reach heights on Amazon usually reserved for Crown, Scholastic and Bantam Books.
I mean, why the hell not?
Matthew Wayne Selznick’s Brave Men Run (the first podcast novel I ever listened to, and the reason I decided to podcast MaAH) is being published by Swarm Press and hits Amazon on Sunday, July 13th. Matthew is doing something very frakkin cool on that day. He is going to be doing a live webathon from 10 am - 5 pm Eastern time. Not only will he be talking about Brave Men Run, Amazon numbers, and generally losing his voice; he will also be reading new fiction set in his Sovereign Era universe… including a story by yours truly. In addition, you will hear stories by:
- J.C. Hutchins (The “7th Son” trilogy)
- Mur Lafferty (”Playing For Keeps”)
- Nathan Lowell (The “Golden Age of the Solar Clipper” novels)
- Matt Wallace (”The Next Fix”)
- J.R. Blackwell (Voices of Tomorrow)
- Jared Axelrod (The Voice of Free Planet X)
This is a podcasting first. This is going to be awesome. Be there.
More about this next week.
